Choosing a plastic surgeon is a personal decision, and it’s normal to have questions. Here are a
few things to know about working with Dr. Kelly Schultz, planning your procedure, and what to
expect along the way.
Dr. Schultz’s goal is to help patients feel more confident in themselves and more comfortablemoving through their everyday lives. That starts with getting to know you. Asking thoughtfulquestions and listening closely are at the heart of her consultation process to understand thingsthat you may like to change, how that affects you, and what you hope that change will mean foryou. Her approach emphasizes thoughtful planning, balanced proportions, and results that suit yourbody and your preferences. “Natural-looking” doesn’t mean everyone should have the samesubtle result. Some patients want a smaller change, while others want a more noticeabletransformation. The goal is to understand what you want and be honest about what surgery canrealistically accomplish. If she doesn’t think a procedure is the right fit, she will always tell you and explain why.

Absolutely. You don’t need to arrive with a surgical plan or even know whether surgery is theanswer. You can simply explain what’s bothering you or what you would like to improve. Dr. Schultzwill evaluate the area, talk through your options, and explain what each treatment can and cannotaccomplish. That may include surgery, a nonsurgical treatment, or waiting until the time is right.
You’ll meet with Dr. Schultz to discuss your goals, medical history, and any questions orconcerns. She’ll perform an examination and explain the options she believes are appropriate foryou, including the expected results, scars, recovery, and potential risks.Photos or examples of results you like can help communicate your preferences, but you don’tneed to bring them. The consultation is a conversation, and there’s room to ask questions andthink through your decision.
Candidacy depends on the procedure, your health, your anatomy, and your expectations. Dr.Schultz also considers factors such as weight stability, nicotine use, future pregnancy plans, andwhether you can arrange the support and recovery time you’ll need.During your consultation, she’ll explain whether surgery is appropriate now and whetheranything should be addressed before moving forward.
Sometimes. Combining procedures may allow you to address more than one concern during asingle surgery and recovery period. However, the right combination depends on your health, the extent of each procedure, theanticipated surgery time, and the recovery involved. Dr. Schultz will discuss whether combiningprocedures makes sense for you or whether separate surgeries would be a better choice.
