SURGICAL TECHNIQUE
Submental liposuction is performed through one or two small incisions hidden discreetly beneath the chin and behind the ears. Using a fine cannula, Dr. Schultz gently removes excess fat and contours the neck and jawline to create a smooth, defined transition between the face and neck.
The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia and takes less than one hour. When combined with other facial procedures, such as a facelift, neck lift, chin implant, or buccal fat reduction it contributes to a beautifully balanced and cohesive result.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Patients return home the same day wearing a light compression garment to support the neck and help reduce swelling. Most experience only mild bruising and tightness, which resolve within the first week.
Results begin to appear within a few weeks as swelling subsides, with continued refinement over the following months.
RECOVERY AND HEALING
Lymphatic massage may be recommended to support healing and enhance circulation during recovery.
DAYS 0-3
Mild swelling and tenderness are expected. Patients are encouraged to rest and wear the compression garment continuously.
WEEK 1
Most swelling subsides, and patients may return to work and social activities.
WEEKS 2-6
Jawline contour becomes more defined as swelling dissipates.
MONTHS 3-6
