LABIAPLASTY

Labiaplasty is a procedure designed to refine and reshape the labia minora for improved comfort, symmetry, and confidence. While many women are curious about the procedure, it is often a topic they feel hesitant to discuss. Dr. Kelly Schultz creates a private, compassionate environment where patients can explore their goals comfortably and confidently.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE

Labiaplasty may be ideal for women who experience physical or emotional discomfort related to the size, shape, or symmetry of the labia. Candidates often seek the procedure to improve comfort, aesthetics, or confidence in intimate settings.

Common reasons for considering labiaplasty include:

  • Elongated or enlarged labia minora that cause visibility or discomfort

  • Asymmetry between the labia that affects balance or appearance

  • Irritation or chafing during exercise or when wearing fitted clothing

  • Discomfort during intimacy caused by excess or uneven tissue

  • Self-consciousness about the appearance of the labia in clothing or swimwear

Ideal candidates are in good health, have realistic expectations, and desire natural, subtle refinement that restores comfort and balance.

SURGICAL TECHNIQUES

Dr. Schultz selects the most appropriate surgical technique based on each patient’s anatomy and aesthetic goals.

WEDGE TECHNIQUE
A small V-shaped wedge of tissue is removed from the central portion of the labia, preserving the natural border and color transition. This technique maintains a soft, seamless contour and is ideal for patients seeking subtle reduction with an invisible incision line.

TRIM TECHNIQUE
Excess tissue is removed along the outer edge of the labia to create a smoother, more symmetrical appearance. This approach can address darker or irregular edges and provides precise contour refinement.

Both methods achieve elegant, natural results and are tailored to each patient’s preferences and tissue characteristics.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Labiaplasty is typically performed as an outpatient procedure and can be done in the office under local anesthesia or in the operating room under general anesthesia when combined with other procedures such as abdominoplasty or breast surgery.

When performed under local anesthesia, patients remain awake but comfortable and completely numb in the treatment area. The experience is straightforward, efficient, and involves minimal downtime. Most stand-alone procedures take approximately one to two hours, and recovery is smooth and well tolerated.

During surgery, Dr. Schultz carefully reshapes the labial tissue to achieve symmetry and proportion while maintaining natural softness and sensation. Fine dissolvable sutures are used for closure, and the incisions heal beautifully within natural folds.

The procedure is gentle, with minimal bleeding or discomfort. Patients return home the same day with detailed aftercare instructions and typically experience a comfortable, uncomplicated recovery.
