ARM LIFT
Brachioplasty, or arm lift surgery, refines and reshapes the upper arms by removing excess skin and tightening the underlying tissues. Whether the concern is related to weight loss, aging, or genetics, this procedure restores a smoother, more defined contour and creates balance between the upper and lower arms for a natural, elegant silhouette.

DR. SCHULTZ'S APPROACH
Dr. Kelly Schultz performs brachioplasty with meticulous attention to detail, focusing on proportion, balance, and natural transitions from the shoulder to the elbow. Her goal is to achieve refinement, not overcorrection, creating an arm contour that appears graceful, smooth, and in harmony with the rest of the body.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE
Ideal candidates for brachioplasty are individuals who:
-
Have loose or hanging skin on the upper arms after weight loss or aging
-
Experience discomfort or irritation from excess skin
-
Notice a lack of tone or definition despite regular exercise
-
Desire natural improvement in proportion and contour
For those with minimal skin laxity and good elasticity, liposuction alone may achieve beautiful results. Brachioplasty is ideal for patients whose skin quality prevents sufficient tightening through nonsurgical means.
SURGICAL TECHNIQUES
Every brachioplasty is tailored to the patient’s anatomy and goals. Incision placement is a key part of surgical design, chosen to achieve optimal contour while maintaining refined, well-hidden scars.
MINI (LIMITED-INCISION) BRACHIOPLASTY
For mild laxity confined near the armpit, a short incision hidden within the underarm crease provides subtle tightening and a smooth upper-arm contour.
TRADITIONAL BRACHIOPLASTY
For moderate laxity extending down the arm, the incision is placed along the inner aspect of the upper arm, from the armpit toward the elbow. This allows comprehensive reshaping while keeping the scar discreet when the arm rests naturally at the side.
EXTENDED BRACHIOPLASTY
For patients with more extensive laxity after significant weight loss, the incision may extend onto the lateral chest to create a continuous, smooth contour between the arm and torso.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Brachioplasty is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately two to three hours. Liposuction may be incorporated to further smooth and refine the arm contour. Once the incisions are made, excess skin and fat are removed, and the underlying tissue is tightened to create a firm, balanced contour. Fine sutures are placed for precise closure, and a light compression garment is applied to minimize swelling and support healing. Patients typically return home the same day to recover.
RECOVERY AND HEALING
Gentle lymphatic massage may be recommended to support healing, enhance circulation, and reduce residual swelling.
DAYS 0-3
Mild swelling and tightness are normal. Discomfort is well controlled with medication, and gentle arm movement is encouraged to promote circulation.
WEEKS 1-2
Swelling subsides, and patients continue wearing compression garments for support.
WEEKS 3-6
Arms continue to refine in shape and tone. Most patients resume full activity within 4–6 weeks.
MONTHS 3-6
Final results appear. Arms look smooth, balanced, and naturally proportionate. Scars soften and fade over time.
