LIPOSUCTION
Liposuction is a precise contouring procedure that refines the body’s natural lines by removing localized fat deposits. It enhances definition, balance, and proportion, helping patients achieve a more sculpted silhouette while maintaining softness and natural harmony.

DR. SCHULTZ'S APPROACH
Dr. Kelly Schultz views liposuction as a form of sculpting rather than fat removal. Her approach is grounded in anatomy, proportion, and restraint, using advanced, gentle techniques to create refined, seamless results. Rather than chasing perfection or overtreatment, Dr. Schultz focuses on contour and balance. Each treatment plan is individualized to enhance the patient’s natural silhouette and maintain smooth, natural transitions between treated and untreated areas.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE
Ideal candidates for liposuction are individuals who:
-
Have stubborn fat deposits that do not respond to diet or exercise
-
Are at or near their ideal weight but wish to refine shape and contour
-
Have good skin elasticity that allows the skin to contract smoothly
-
Maintain stable weight and healthy lifestyle habits
-
Desire subtle, natural refinement rather than drastic change
Liposuction can be performed on nearly any area of the body, including the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, back, neck, and under the chin. It is also commonly combined with other procedures such as abdominoplasty, breast surgery, or fat grafting to achieve proportionate, cohesive results.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Liposuction is typically performed under general anesthesia, though small areas can be treated under local anesthesia in the office. Through discreet incisions, Dr. Schultz uses a fine cannula to gently remove excess fat and sculpt the surrounding tissue.
At the end of surgery, a compression garment is applied to help reduce swelling and support the new shape during the healing process. Most patients return home the same day and begin gentle movement within hours.

COMPRESSION GARMENTS AND LYMPHATIC MASSAGE
Compression garments are a vital component of liposuction recovery. They help reduce swelling and bruising, encourage smooth and even skin contraction, and preserve the newly refined body contour. Patients typically wear compression garments continuously for the first few weeks, removing them only to shower.
Dr. Schultz also recommends lymphatic massage to assist with healing. These gentle, specialized treatments improve circulation, reduce swelling, and prevent fluid buildup. Most patients begin lymphatic massage within the first week after surgery and continue for several sessions as advised.
RECOVERY AND HEALING
DAYS 0-3
Mild swelling, bruising, and tightness are expected but easily managed with prescribed medication. Light walking is encouraged to support circulation.
WEEKS 1-2
Swelling gradually improves. Many patients return to work and daily activities during this time.
WEEKS 3-6
Contour of treated areas appears further refined as swelling subsides. Compression garments are gradually reduced.
MONTHS 3-6
Final results become apparent as contours smooth and the skin adapts beautifully to the body’s new shape.
